Peridot does remain my favourite, even ahead of Amethyst and I really like Amethyst, never noticed how much she likes puns before... hee, peri-phrasing. Anyway, it was pretty adorable and even though it didn't end on anything super-climatic, it was still a fun little Stevenbomb.

So yay Steven Universe! Of the two new episodes I liked the Watermelon Island one better the Gem Drill or whatever episode #2 was called even if that was more of a consequences will never be the same episode, mostly because Watermelon Stevens as Ewoks were pretty rad.

Isn't that what's happening now? The Stevenbomb occurs because they wanted to see if people would take to binging it across a week then nothing for a month or two... I don't actually know if that's true but I'd rather a constant run over several months than huge gaps.

This may make me a grump, but I am sick of the "Steven-bomb" format. I would prefer episodes be released on a normal schedule. After this bomb aren't we in for the whole "Summer of Steven" thing? I accidentally watched ahead without knowing that three episodes leaked, and was wondering why the theme song titles were in French. Anyway, loved the first batch and can't wait to get even more. Not enough Steven in my life! One nitpick: it struck me as a little tonally off that all the gem-world Rubies were incredibly stupid. Had that been established already and I'm just forgetting about it? It seemed a little gratuitous that none of them would recognize the very obvious gems masquerading as humans. It was hilarious though, which makes up for it somewhat.

Rubies are low level grunts, dumb muscle. It had been established but kinda ignored because of the Ruby we know evolving beyond that.
I don't know what the Summer of Steven is but I seriously hope against a bomb.

I can't find a source anywhere now but I remember hearing somewhere that the Summer of Steven was going to be weekly episodes from late June through August. But yeah, I can't confirm that now, so maybe it came to me in a very optimistic dream.

I can confirm, Steven Floats will formally air later in June and the show will be weekly throughout the rest of the summer after that.

Has the airing of Steven Floats been pushed out or is it due this week?

Aw, don't be sorry! Summer of Steven really isn't going well and I didn't really want a bomb. New SU is always good but I miss the weekly schedule, really got to sit on an episode before the next one.

My additional apologies for misinforming you guys, I honestly wasn't expecting CN to completely alter the scheduling plans like that. Glad to at least have info and the next airdates finally.

Kinda weird that the gems weren't in part 2 at all, but they definitely would've crowded the episode too much. Nice to see Sour Cream continue to get characterization!

All... what, two of them? Yeah, I mean I don't hate Lars because he's a jerk but just how much of one he can be. Maybe I'm less enamored of this weird shipping situation between him and Sadie, it shouldn't be but they're steering them together though she could do so much better.

"Lars and the Cool Kids" "Joking Victim" "Island Adventure" "Horror Club" "The New Lars" --ENOUGH LARS ALREADY I was thinking this season but yeah, too much attention to a character which really doesn't require it. Kinda reminds me how focus goes to Lumpy Space Princess on Adventure Time though she's horrible to focus on and somewhat beyond redemption regardless of how you frame her.

Yeah, it's just frustrating--we've got Lapis AND Peridot both now on the show as regular cast members, and instead of getting to know them better we spend yet another episode mining Lars's personality. He has none! I want to spend some time with the interesting new characters, please. If we're going to spend time away from the gems in general then at least spend it on characters we like and feel like there's interest in their inner lives. I think people would even take Ronaldo over him though yeah, I'd prefer more Green Dorito and Blue Emo.

Conversely, I liked the Lars episode quite a bit and found it refreshing to focus on some of the less supernatural Beach City folks. It might be because his relationship with Sadie hits pretty close to home, albeit a mirrored version of it. But I'm also still not super into Peridot and felt that the Barn arc focused in on her a little too much.
I will agree that Lapis could use more screentime though. Have we even seen her since the tape recorder episode?
Also, the Pearl-and-Greg episode needed to be a two parter so badly. It just felt squashed and trivial, which is weird for a show that's so easily able to squeeze so much into 11 minutes. Pearl's resentment has been building for so long, it felt cheap to resolve it so quickly. That might just be me leaping to conclusions though.
Lastly: more Stevonnie, all the damn time, please!

I don't understand you guys not super into Peridot. I'm probably the only person fairly cold on Stevonnie.

I don't understand you guys not super into Peridot. I'm probably the only person fairly cold on Stevonnie. If Peridot can't shapeshift, might that mean that she can't fuse? Hmmm... She could be able to, just that because Peris are inherently rigid it'll be like some unintentional shard monster.

What I think I'm trying to say is that I would like to watch 50 more episodes of this show immediately.

I'm late to the show, but finished watching the first season. I do not want to admit how concerned I got about finding out the advanced gems coming to earth. Also, finding out about Garnet being a fusion was amazing! I loved her song. This show is so sweet and adorable. Like a basket of kitten sized, baby bunnies. There's so much more I really like about the show. Like, how Steven has to come to terms with the gems being aliens that intended to attack and concur earth. Can't wait to start the next season! DAVE GUY!!!

We'll have to wait for you to get upto speed, season two is really long and develops things way ahead of what you've seen so far, strap in for lots of singing and crying and every feel available and crying again. Aren't baby bunnies typically around kitten size?

This season went from silly to insane seemingly overnight. The run since "Monster Reunion" has been incredible. I can't wait to see where we end up.
"Bismuth" and "Alone at Sea" wrecked me.

I like silly SU, for all the crying and singing and deep storyline, they still know how to make a funny yet heartfelt story most times when not going deep into Gem life.

Yay Smoky Quartz!! I really like how the voice choices of the fusions do sound like a combination of the two voices, it's always been a neat aspect of the casting choice.

That Wile E. Coyote episode was kind of lame.
