A Tesla Cybertruck. On the highway right next to me.
Pictures don't do justice how ugly these things are. Also kinda small. Bigger than my Sonata certainly, but dwarfed by something like an F-150.
The Cybertruck feels like someone riveted some sheet metal onto a Pontiac Aztek so it would look more more futuristic while shooting a direct to video Starship Troopers sequel.

This cat was watching Cecilia look for cats in our apartment complex, while Cecilia was completely focused on the other side of the walkway. Something about the posture and its snout reminds me of Henrietta Pussycat.

The nesting pigeon outside my door was finally removed today, 11 days after she selected this insane spot to make a nest. Apparently this had to be professionally done, as it is illegal to remove a nesting pigeon unless you are a licensed professional. Who knew?

We've had a wren trying to make a nest in our outdoor porch ceiling fan off and on ever since we moved in. We've always managed to stop it before it gets too far, though.

European starlings and house sparrows are introduced, so they don't matter.
Doves and pigeons will toss down three twigs and call it good enough to lay an egg.

Finally saw a weka this Easter Sunday on Rotoroa Island. There were multitudes. Also saw, despite seeing just one back in 2018, a group of saddlebacks. To and from the island, there were also common dolphin about, as well as large numbers of petrels, terns, and most interestingly Australasian Gannets divebombing for fish.

A hot pink Tesla. A tiny little Accent tailgating an 18-wheeler - what could possibly go wrong? A backup for two miles at least where there was no accident, no construction, and there were 2 lanes going into the tunnel and 2 lanes in the tunnel. Why, people, why??

Well yesterday but leaving the ER, there was a dude in a wheelchair in pjs with wide grey stripes, like an old-timey prisoner uniform. Then I realized he was being pushed by a member of the sheriffβs department, so apparently the OKC jail actually puts them in old-timey prisoner uniforms.

Heard outside: 4 F-15s flying extremely low over my town. I had no idea what it could have been until I looked on my town's reddit. That's the loudest thing I've heard in a long time.

Since moving to the DC region in 2010 I've gotten used to seeing dirt bike and 4-wheelers on the street doing tricks. But apparently now people are souping up mopeds to go at least 50 mph. Haven't seen any wheelies from them yet though.

I finally saw one of these out in the wild yesterday. I passed one on my way home from work. Oh my GOD, this thing is so incredibly ugly. It looked absolutely ridiculous on the road.
And yes, this description of an Aztek with added sheet metal is perfect. It looks exactly like that. And I mean exactly like something that was designed for a low-budget film to look "futuristic". It is hideous.

A flying fox. Just cruising between office buildings in the Gold Coast.
Also seen today: honeyeaters, two varieties of lorikeet, two sorts of rosella, Australian ibis (aka the bin chicken).
Queensland, Australia's Florida.

Queensland, Australia's Florida. An entire camera crew setting up outside the local greengrocers / deli, everything in the back of a hire van, no indication of anything else. ETA - apparently there one was one placard with the word "FEAR" on it, according to the fella.

More Gold Coast fun. To further the equivalence, turns out that Queensland's moniker is The Sunshine State. Certain residents of TIF will know that Florida's moniker is the same.
Currawongs a plenty. Australian ravens. More rosellas. Some dude ripping a flounder out of the brackish.

A blue gray gnatcatcher gathering nesting materials. He was a very clever little birb: he was gathering frayed rope from wooden posts with rope running through them, only going to the holes where the wood was less smooth so the rope would be more frayed. He gathered a poof of rope bigger than his cute little head and flew away.
