That person's one of the newer and more persistent trolls and has said outright that their purpose there is to fuck up the old community. Ugh, then I should not have engaged, that's my fault. Same.

You weren't to know, nobody was. If folk are gonna be mindless jerks then let them have their fiefdom, we will always have our offshoots.

So, the season 3 premiere of The Magicians introduced a new creature/character named... the Great Cock.
It's two weeks later, and absolutely nobody in the comments for the AV Club's review has made the obvious joke
AT ALL

It still has its moments, outside of Newswire and GJI! items. The comments on this article about Buster Keaton gently remind me of the AVC circa 2008. And I had a civilised conversation with someone in the review for Mary and the Witch's Flower.

Is GJI! even still a thing?
I mostly lost interest in visiting the website not necessarily because of the commentariat but because the writers now are (mostly) dreadful. The ones who aren't completely, insufferably arrogant and intellectually vacant lack any voice whatsoever.
It just sucks. The History of Violences and sporadic Random Roles aside, it's all garbage articles no one will want to read 10 days from now, let alone 10 minutes.

Not sure where to go to find that sweet sweet AVC sound, where is good?

I can't sleep, so I wandered around the AVC for a few minutes. This week's "Reasonable Discussions", which now was posted over 36 hours ago, has 16 comments.

Harris has a Random Roles with Christina Ricca up now, and, while he tries, it's clear that she's not going to make forth with the anecdotes. One of those where everything was fun, and everyone was nice to work with. I think there's a reason the best ones are often with the people old enough not to care if they flamethrower a few bridges on the way out.

I wonder how much of this is down to most of her roles being from when she was a child, too. Clearly, based my posting here, a lot went wrong in my childhood but generally when I reach back to childhood memories theyโre mostly fine.

Well, I'd go back and bring the old Disqus account out of retirement. I can barely even remember to keep up with Tom Breihan's new column on Kinja any more.

Too bad itโs a combo deal where if you want Onion content you need to take the GMG stuff too.

Christina Ricci is just that hard to get to say anything notable. I talked to her a while back, and I literally had to resort to, "So what else do you have coming up?" in a 10-minute time slot because her answers were so vacuous. Some stars are just bad at press stuff. She's one of them. It's no big deal.

See also Margot Kidder, Terri Garr, and Bronson Pinchot. Or, for the other side of the equation, don't forget The World's Unhappiest Actor, Victor Garber.

Hardly a biggest blunder, but the recent RR with Alan Ruck was great. I seem to have lucked out given that every time Iโve wandered to the AVC recently thereโs been an RR at top, which is good to see.

I thought about replying to an article today, but while I can log in fine to kinja.com, on any of the actual GMG websites, it fails. It shows me as authenticating to my Twitter account (which I tied it to), and then puts me right back on the login page. There was a time when that I might have looked for a solution, but I'm having a hard time caring at this point.

I have to completely disable JustBlock Security. There are several settings that can be disabled specific to a web-site, but this does not appear to be one of them. Maybe I'll remember this the next time I feel like commenting.

They actually forced him to cut down the roles because they thought people would "lose interest", though. HERESY!!!
