Also, whatever change that Nu-Disqus made last week broke the Tampermonkey script I had been using that automatically loaded all the comments. FYI, I updated the script to fix this after Disqus change: tolerabilityindex.freeforums.net/post/34684/threadMight be nice if that thread didn't get buried in the Archive Board... Is the Load All Comments script suddenly no longer working for anyone else? Any chance there's an updated script out there? |

At home it's all fine, but at work the comments on AVC (and for that matter, all disqus comments) look like this:  Tried Firefox and IE (nothing else available at work) both look the same. |

Did your work maybe block disqus? Korea blocks a lot of porn pages, but sometimes the blocked page will load in a similar fashion to the thing you posted before being like, "Oh yeah...we can't let people see tits!" and tossing up the official "YOU CAN'T LOOK AT BOOBS OR PRO-NORTH KOREA OR ILLEGAL GAMBLING SITES!" page thing. |

At home it's all fine, but at work the comments on AVC (and for that matter, all disqus comments) look like this: Tried Firefox and IE (nothing else available at work) both look the same. Did your work maybe block disqus? Korea blocks a lot of porn pages, but sometimes the blocked page will load in a similar fashion to the thing you posted before being like, "Oh yeah...we can't let people see tits!" and tossing up the official "YOU CAN'T LOOK AT BOOBS OR PRO-NORTH KOREA OR ILLEGAL GAMBLING SITES!" page thing. It's something I anticipate every day but I think not yet. I can log in no problem and the disqus 'homepage' is fine, just the comments look like that. |

Check out greasyfork.org/en/scripts/9756-disqus-click-automate. I had to disable the old one, and use the install feature on that page to get it to work. (I tried just copying it, but that didn't do it). Thanks to ComradeQuestions for providing the link. |

Anyone else completely lost ability to log in to TOC?
EDIT: Huh. After uninstalling Chrome, suddenly I'm logged in. Still no cog, so next time FuckDisqus chucks me out I'll probably be stuck again... but OK for now.

Yeah, no cog. I've been able to log in by clicking the login menu right above the comments and selecting "AV Club," but then sometimes it just takes me to the home page and I have to close the tab and make a new one for the log-in to take effect. Very smooth.

I'm glad I'm not the only one having trouble. That's the only way I can log in, since I don't remember what old e-mail address I used to set my account up with, and I'm not going to just start all over with a new account.

If they're killing AVC native accounts then they may need to eat a bag of figurative dicks. Disqus in their infinite wisdom killed the ability to merge site-local accounts with a Disqus specific one and even if they hadn't, just turning them off with zero forewarning and no way to keep an account's history is a total dick move.

Okay, my little traipse around shows two things, I can still login but only through the right browser for some reason and that when you make a new account it's basically like starting over unless I missed something very big. I smell bullshit and I'm not pleased so far, they don't even do account merges anymore so they really are asking that you start over.

Huh, really... well, I know it happened before his time that we couldn't register but even so, this whole "kill existing site-side accounts and let Disqus handle them" thing was on his watch and I'm not sure what side he means when he says "product development", theirs or Disqus'? I still don't get how to migrate and keep my account history and I wouldn't tell anyone to do so, only reason I knew I couldn't log in is because Chrome tends to let AVC cookies die within hours. Currently, it's like having two separate accounts and it's not at all what you were told.
