A long time ago I made a discus account I use once in a while, and I discovered the other day I was logged into TOC using it instead of my AVC login, and I had missed a several notifications. Is it still possible to merge AVC and discus accounts? Would I lose my comments and votes under the old login? I'd hate to lose my AVC history, but I wouldn't mind having one login, I guess. If it's possible, how would one do that?

Please remember to be careful when blocking people when you have an AVC only account, you can't really undo a block if your account isn't on Disqus so make sure you really want to keep them silent or just use the Killfile extension for Chrome if you're looking for a less absolute method.

Anyone else getting a "Log in to Disqus!" ad instead of their replies/upvotes? It's happened on and off yesterday and today, where when I click on my notification bubble, I get a "Disqus Announcement" encouraging me to log in or sign up instead of my AVC replies and upvotes.

So far, the only consistency I've noticed is that it's happening while I'm at work, using Firefox or Chrome for Windows; I also tried it on my phone yesterday just to check and got the same ad. But at home on the iPad, I can actually see my replies and upvotes. I have no idea if that actually means anything, but it's annoying as hell. |

Their RSS feeds have gone wonky, now I'm getting all the feeds through one feed and it's horrible, I don't need to be exposed to GJIs like this!

So, I have to go back to the article and locate my comment and the reply to do so. What a pain in the ass. Its been doing the same for me for a couple of months now. There was a point where it went "back to normal" for a week or two, but it has since gone back to pain in the ass territory. Most of the time I just say screw it and pass up the opportunity to dig through a thousand comments to like someones response or reply to them. I do a lot less commenting over there these days anyway. |

I typed out a lengthy reply on the Westworld comments to a new user saying their 'critical comments' had been deleted and suggested they'd just been lost by Disqus, noting how common this in long threads... and guess what? Disqus crashed and lost the reply.

Like Post-Lupin, I couldn't log in to post a comment (O'Neal's GJI of calming music), so I ended up going with a Disqus account from another site. Every time I logged in, it would tell me to log in again. |
