Ok I applied for a job in Wilmington NC, which is in my top 5 affordable beach towns, and that's giving me a moderate nervous breakdown so let's ignore that and look at houses!
I keep looking at jobs in Wilmington too! It's only about 2 hours from here, and when I went out with my friend a few months ago (pre-hurricane) I really liked it. |

Those are some super-cute cottages. The kitchen in the first one is a little weird but man, the rest of it is adorable. (Although I hate to shower in a claw-foot tub and I'm not sure if there was another bathroom.)

But omg that little enclosed veranda shed thing is AMAZING. I could have ALL SORTS of dead plants hanging in there! |

Also there is a massively overgrown Confederate bunker on Sullivan's Island. A boy took me on a date there once, which frankly was the most amazing idea for a first date ever.

I should have known better than to look at that. New Jersey is... not cheap. Heh. (That said, I've tried living outside of the Eastern Time Zone, and as a sports fan, it really didn't work for me. I can't move back out west, no matter how affordable the adorable houses are!) |

I am addicted to Design Home, and it's driving me insane.
This appallingly designed room features one of my most hated elements: two identical 'wall arts' right next to each other. Who would do that?? I mean aside from a tacky hotel trying to act all fancy, ugh. I bet this design won 5 stars, to which I say: get fucked.

It does, however, have the worst stairs in the history of stairs - steep, spiral, and barely wide enough for one person to walk. I mean they look fantastic, but they would be a nightmare to navigate every day. |

So I'm watching the HGTV Urban Oasis, which is in Minneapolis this year. They chose to use tons of black and concrete, which ... I don't know, doesn't really scream Nordic to me? Which is what they keep saying - it's Nordic! And I've seen it a couple of times now, but I really don't care for a whole floor to ceiling, whole width of the stairwell row of wood slats. It just looks like a jail to me. Oh, and they also used black roman shades (or something) on the floor-to-ceiling windows, which end up looking a garage door when they are pulled all the way down.
