Sometimes when I'm a little lazy I end up painting over the edge of my nail, and I clean it up with a q-tip dunked in nail polish remover. OK, it can be a little tedious, but it's way less wasteful than THAT... Also, jewelry related question: Do any of you have a jewelry tree? or something to organize necklaces on your dresser? I'm trying to organize and declutter, I already got a nail polish bottle organizer, but want something to hang my necklaces and earrings on...

I don't have a proper organizer, but I have a couple magnets attached to the inside of my medicine cabinet that I hang my necklaces on. (these kind: readsomebooks.com/Ebay/magclips.jpg )

MAC is having a crazy sale right now. Sweet! MAC's Russian Red was the first red lipstick I bought after years of not wearing it (it's a long story but someone made me feel really insecure about it) and it's just such a lovely, flattering shade. Also, I cannot sing the praises of Besame lipstick nearly enough. It's expensive - $22 a pop - but my god does it go on like a dream, and it stays put. Red Velvet in particular is a color that looks amazing on everyone I've ever seen wear it. The only lipstick brand I think I like more is Kat Von D's liquid lipsticks. Super pigmented and crazy lasting power. Kat Von D's eyeshadows are nice too. I recently got "Iggy" and "Paranoid."

I'm someone who really likes the idea of eye makeup more so than the actual practice of putting it on. I'm lazy, bad at it, and I have long days that usually necessitate me putting eye drops in to re-wet my contact lenses. I'd love to be one of those girls with fabulous winged eyeliner, but I just don't think it's in the cards. That said, I've heard amazing things about Kat Von D's tattoo eyeliner.

I used to wear eyeliner and eyeshadow much more frequently in my early 20s, because I tended to work the 3-11 shift and had plenty of time to fuck around before work. I got pretty good with pencil eyeliner, but I've fallen so far out of practice now that I'm terrible at it again. I've attempted it for special occasions since and have just gotten frustrated. Eyeshadow isn't too hard for me, provided I don't try anything fancy, but getting my eyeliner tight against my lash line is just something that doesn't happen. My usual everyday makeup routine is: -BHA 2% liquid -Primer -Concealer -Foundation (I use Ulta's mineral powder; it's the same dang thing as BareMinerals for half the cost) -Blush -Mineral veil setting powder -Eyebrow tinting gel -Makeup setting spray (NYX! again, 1/4 the cost of Urban Decay's) -Lip primer -Lipstick That's pretty much it. I have the routine down to about 5 minutes now.

The Stuffingtacular She-Hulk I have likely pimped this before but if you like mineral makeup, I also recommend Everyday Minerals, which is online only but I love their stuff. And you can get (nearly) free samples if you want to try out a few shades.

Most days I wear nothing at all. I'm in grad school and I tend to only wear makeup when I have a presentation. It's also the only time that I don't dress like a slob.

I was notorious for my makeup in high school - most girls didn't bother with it as we went to an all-girls Catholic school, but I always wore a full face of makeup. I just enjoyed it - still do. For me it's like putting on armor. I even wore makeup in culinary school. No lipstick, usually just lip balm, but I did wear concealer and foundation, usually. By the time I started working in a restaurant I was just like "fuck it" and didn't bother with anything at all. I've always worn makeup to my other jobs, though. Recently I went out without any on to run some errands and some soccer mom tried to bully me into going to the 10-items-or-less lane because she felt entitled to go ahead of me, even though I clearly had more than 10 items and politely told her so. She turned to her husband, and I assume thought I couldn't hear her when she said, "Ugh, I guess we're stuck here now. She's like fifteen anyway." It took me under five minutes to check out. And I'm 30.

Pedantic Editor Type Okay, you got me. I just went for the sample kit - I'm really impressed with the level of detail on the Everyday Minerals website. They certainly make it easy to help you find your correct shade! I'm really, really pale, with pink undertones, so it's always been a struggle to find concealer/foundation that doesn't skew orange. The Ulta brand in the very lightest shade they have isn't so bad, but it still, again, skews a tiny bit orange for my liking. I'll report back after I get my sample kit!

I don't wear a lot of makeup, but I do put some on basically every day. My skin is sensitive, fair and semi-blotchy and I tend to have a somewhat oily t-zone so it helps even things out, tone down the t-zone, etc.
My daily routine is facial moisturizer with SPF, powder foundation, concealer as needed, a light sweep of finishing powder and mascara. Occasionally a little blush or bronzer. I don't wear much eyeliner or eye shadow though I do own some. And I tend to chew lipstick right off, so I only wear that on special occasions.

If you end up buying some full-size they have custom kits and buy 2 get 1 free deals.

I'm not crazy about bronzer, though, so I'll probably skip that. I'm impressed that a container lasts you a year, given that you wear it just about every day. I'll definitely make the switch if I like this more than Ulta, although I'll have to figure out another way to keep up my platinum status there through 2017, haha. My skin isn't sensitive, but it's very oily and blemish-prone (story of my life since I was 10, ugh...), especially when my hormones are kicking up, with the added fun of also being dry and flaky in the winter. A good friend of mine recommended the Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid, and I bought a sample. I've been using it twice a day for the past 10 days or so and I swear my skin has never looked better. It's smoother, my pores look a bit tighter, and any lingering blemishes/blemish marks are gone. Honestly, and I will never tell my parents this, I wish I'd listened to them as a teenager. They told me to keep my bangs off my forehead, and I didn't do it. They told me to wash off my makeup before bed, and I didn't do it. I'm just now figuring out what works best for my skin.

I miss makeup. I wear it when the mood hits, but its been a while since I've had the kind of disposable income I used to have where I could buy Sephora packages every few months. So I'm mostly bored with what I own now. Most days I'll just throw on a lipstick anywhere in the pink-red range from a blush to a ruby. If Something Awesome is happening I'll add silver or black eyeliner, and maybe mascara if I wanna kick it all the way up. I stopped using base a really long time ago. I found it never looked natural and I'm pretty lucky to have even skin-tone and blemishes happen extremely rarely. I get the Fresh Sugar lip set for Xmas though, so I've been using that. I love how it looks and feels, but you have to reapply like, every 5 minutes. Just zero staying power, unless you layer it over an actual lipstick. clytie I'm with you on the long hair. I got mine cut in September. It was waist long, and I went up to about the collarbone. It doesn't seem to be growing fast enough. And now the guy I'm dating has hair about down to his mid-back and I really really want mine to be longer. For some reason. I may try some vitamins again.

This isn't quite makeup, but bath goodies. Does anyone want some li'l L'Occitane freebies? They're actually free, not gifts with purchase. Caveats: you have to live near a physical L'Occitane store to go pick them up, and you can't already be a member of their mailing list (yeah, you have to sign up for the mailing list to get the stuff, but you can cancel it right after).
Anyway, PM me if you're interested with your name (or just "a" name if you're uncomfortable sharing that) and email address. I need two people!
Hand cream, shower oil, lotion, and soap.

I liked Everyday Minerals so much that I bought full sizes. I'm SO IMPRESSED with how much better this makeup matches my skin tone. And it costs the same as Ulta's brand, too. Whee!

Yay, another convert!! Even my mom noticed the difference with this on my face vs. Ulta, and she's generally oblivious. I've been raving about it to everyone I know who wears makeup, too. I'm astounded that by just comparing the colors in their containers, EM's is a shade and a half lighter and a good deal less orange. Finally, my pasty self has a breakthrough! Where was this when I was in high school??

I'd love to give them a try. As long as they won't make my super sensitive skin break out. There is a store a couple blocks from where I am house sitting this month. I spend a lot on skin care, so if this stuff works I may end up actually buying something. Sent the PM. Thanks for the offer!

I just bought Cranberry Stiletto and Raspberry Tiramisu matte liquid lipsticks from Beauty Bakerie and I can't wait to get them! The reviews are incredible - the lipsticks are smudgeproof as smudgeproof can be, not too drying, ridiculously long-lasting, and easy to apply/build opacity. I'll report back once they're in my possession and I've given them a whirl. I just love those colors so much I had to have them the second I ran across a Tumblr post with the swatches. I did have a recent disappointment, though. NYX Liquid Suede Creme Lipstick turned out to be a huge bust - the color I got is lovely and it was very easy to apply, but it took a million years to dry and got super cakey super fast; it also wore off much faster than I'm used to. Ah well, it was only $6.

Anyone have a recommendation for an undereye correcter? I am getting very little sleep while I'm in grad school. Getting slightly dark circles under my eyes. My skin is very dry and sensitive, so I always struggle finding makeup that doesn't make skin break out.

I can't find the makeup thread anymore for some reason, and I have more hair-related questions anyway, so let's go with this.
First off, I can't find the Suave Sea Minerals texturizing spray I was using anymore - they seem to be phasing that line out, which bums me out. Does anyone have any recommendations for an inexpensive texturizing spray I can use to create loose/beachy waves?
Second, I think I could use a travel/compact hairdryer. I don't want to spend $$$ but I'd like it to be decent quality. Foldable would be great. Any recommendations?
